Should I meditate every day? How long should I meditate for?
Yes. The Journeyman Collective firmly believe everyone should meditate at least once a day and if you have the time, several times a day. The length of your meditation is to be determined by you. The JourneyMen Collective are here to give you permission to allow your meditative practice to be your own unique journey.
Should I sit down or lay down or what position should my body be in?
The position that is most comfortable for your being is the best position. When you recognize that everything is energy, including your body, it truly doesn’t matter if you are seated or laying down.
You may want to sit in silence, listen to music or witness your thoughts coming and going. Sometimes your thoughts will just go on a massive never-ending loop and the key is to stay out of judgment regarding the experience.
Sometimes meditations can be deeply profound and other times it may feel like it was pointless. When you have deeply profound meditations also ask, “What is it that I am to learn from this experience so I can apply it into my life?”
Meditation is teaching us to have calmness of mind, stillness of being and an awareness of presence moment by moment so that you apply what you practice in your daily life. The energy that you curate in meditation is brought into you all aspects of your life.
Give yourself permission to sense into what really truly works for you.
